Controlled Experiments - Instructional Video
My students ALWAYS struggle with identifying a controlled experiment and it's components. We practice and repeat these terms in many experiments throughout our year together so by the end most of them get. MOST is not all, and with such an important standard I wanted to create something that would be able to be shown to my students who needed a little extra support. There are a lot of videos on YouTube that cover the same content, but some would miss a key vocabulary word while others would just go too much into it. Remember I teach 6th grade so we are taking small steps towards science mastery.
This is a quick reference tool that I can use to help those who are still confusing replication with repetition, dependent vs independent variables, and controlled groups vs controlled or constant variables. It goes fast and is probably not the best to use for introduction or the only form of direct instruction but as a supplemental or remediation tool I think it rocks! PS this was my fist time doing ANYTHING like this so be kind and enjoy!
